Q - What is Ultraviolet light?
A - It is the invisible part of light, made up of UVA, UVB, UVC.
Prolonged exposure to Ultraviolet rays will cause eye damage which is manifested
by eyes to turning opaque.
UVA or as we call them "Aging rays" are known to contribute to early
wrinkling and cataracts. They are closest to visible light and can travel
through glass as well as water, clouds and some forms of clothing, they are
constant year-round.
UVB or as we call them "the Burning Rays" are known to causes cancer and
burning of the eye. These rays are more intense in the summer months; cause
immediate and severe sunburns.
UVC or as we call them "the Can't hurt you rays" are absorbed by the
Earth's atmosphere and therefore, do not need to be filtered by eyewear.
Q - Why can't I see as well as I used to?
A - Presbyopia is the medical term for the
need to wear reading glasses or bifocals when reaching middle age. Presbyopia is
due to the natural stiffening of the lens in the eye. This prevents the lens
from changing focus so that one can clearly see distant objects and near objects.
Q - Can I use prescription lens with sunreaders?
A - No. But sunreaders are great for threading hooks while fishing, for
example.
Q - Are these prescription glasses?
A - No. These glasses are not to replace prescriptions. See your
